Heather began her career over 20 years ago while completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Florida. During her final year of study, she began working directly with adults with Autism and other developmental disorders. Although challenging, the reward of making a personal connection with those she served drew her further into the field after graduation. This love only expanded as she continued to use behavior analytic principles while working with young children with language deficits expanding their verbal behavior repertoires. She then continued working with families of various backgrounds and compositions, including foster parents and relative caregivers using Positive Behavior Supports. She so loved the connection she made with the families and the benefit she saw that she pursued further education. In 2007, Heather received a Master of Arts degree with a Specialization in Behavior Analysis from the University of Nevada, Reno. Shortly thereafter, she continued honing her techniques specializing in precision teaching and instructional design. Heather continues to bring a particular lens to her analysis and practice by combining these technologies within her current therapeutic endeavors. In addition to providing support and consultation to private schools and Montessori’s, Heather has also provided extensive consultation and training to public schools. She has worked directly in the public school system serving as a District-wide BCBA supporting learners, their educational team, and families. In addition to supporting families and people with developmental delays and Autism, Heather also has an extensive history of working with individuals with social-emotional challenges. Heather’s interest continues to be building academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills through the use of behavior analytic techniques. Heather loves living in Germany, as it resonates with her values of lifelong learning. She enjoys working with anyone interested in changing their behavior to progress towards their identified personal values.

Areas of Specialty

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an autism therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA therapy applies one's understanding of how behavior works in real situations. The autism services aim to increase meaningful behaviors and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning. The ultimate goal of autism treatment is to induce meaningful change and improve the individuals' quality of life. The ABA intervention program is written to meet the needs of the individual client. Andrea worked with a wide array of clientele with a diverse background in ABA.

Organizational Behavior Management (OBM)

Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) focuses on assessing and changing the work environment to improve employee performance and workplace culture. OBM is frequently used along with organizational development and other psychologist lead interventions within organizations.  We support your organization’s path to success in specific domains grounded in behavior-based assessments. We do so by providing improvement plans to develop sustainable processes and systems fueled by naturally occurring consequences. We aim to support your company’s evolvement in cultural change, employee performance and retention, safety, and customer satisfaction, yielding increased revenue and profit. We are providing in-person services in the greater Stuttgart region, as well as within the EU.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages people to embrace their covert behaviors (such as thoughts and feelings) rather than suppressing or feeling guilty about them. ACT is rooted in traditional behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy and involves an action-oriented approach. ACT has been used effectively to help treat workplace stress, anxiety, social anxiety disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychosis. It has also been used to help treat medical conditions such as chronic pain, substance abuse, and diabetes. An emerging number of studies demonstrated the effectiveness of ACT in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) autism therapy as well. We provide in-person services in the greater Stuttgart area.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

The solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. The method acknowledges present challenges and potential past causes; it predominantly explores an individual's current resources and future endeavors. SFBT as the psychologist's tool can help the clients to look forward and use their existing strengths to achieve their goals. The solution-focused brief therapy is considered a time-limited approach; however, the methods are frequently incorporated into other therapeutic approaches, and effects can be long-lasting.

The SFBT therapy intervention is not behavior-analytic in nature and is not covered by the BACB credential.

Telehealth Services

Seldom are obstacles (pandemic, natural disasters, disability, or mobility issues) to coming into a consultation office, but assistance is still available. Our telehealth-trained professionals can meet you over a HIPAA compliant connection (online or phone) and assist with your challenges. We can assist you with autism therapy, psychologist's services in the greater Stuttgart area and within the EU states.
